My son and I traveled Route 66 from Joplin, Missouri to Needles, California in my '65 Mustang Convertible this spring (May 2008).  Your magazine was helpful in planning for that wonderful trip-of-a-lifetime!  Thank you.  We met some wonderful people along the way.  And we also met Nedley, the Cool Springs roadrunner.
